Reverse: CERES AVGVSTA SC Ceres, veiled and draped, seated left, on ornamental throne, holding grain stalks in right hand and transverre torch in left. Bronze, 13.70g, 29mm. Obverse EF, reverse VF. Claudius was born in Lugdunun in 10 BC, A childhood attack of infantile paralysis left him with a grotesque appearance and was generally assumed that he was weak-minded, however he proved to be a very capable administrator. In AD 43 he personally took part in the invasion of Britain. SOLD.
