The FLORENCE Bed is engineered entirely from hardwood for quick, clean assembly. This timber from sustainable sources is knot free and when painted white does not age with knot stains leeching through the paint leaving unsightly brown marks. It makes a very stylish and reliably strong bed suitable for all age groups having a flat hardwood slatted base, hardwood centre rail and attractive head & foot ends. The Florence’s side rails are constructed by using the process called “LVL” which is an engineered timber and is known as structural composite lumber and now often used for joists. So you can see where the strength is against solid pine or even solid rubber wood. Both could use finger joints in the timber and this is where the strength is lost. A very durable but inexpensive rubber wood bed frame available in White or Antique Pine. This bed frame has been tested and certified that it will take 300kg in weight, which is over 47 stone.
