This battery powered gold and silver pen plating kit is ideal for getting started with selective gold and silver plating. It’s great for selective plating of jewellery, electronic repairs, dental work and coins. Because the battery powered gold and silver pen plating kit is powered by replaceable batteries, it’s completely portable and easy to store. The Battery Powered Plating Pen operates at a range of 3.0 – 5.0 volts. Please be aware this kit is not suitable for achieving thicknesses of gold of 2.5 microns (vermeil standard) and above. If you need to achieve these thicknesses, please see our Gold Tank Plating Kit. This kit includes a crocodile clip protector which should be slipped over the crocodile clip between uses. This prevents the crocodile clip touching the battery pen electrode and running down the batteries while the pen is in storage. Please click on the ‘Examples’ tag for guidance on this.
